Dr. Joseph is a clinical psychologist and completed her training at The New School for Social Research in New York City. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science from Kent State University.
Dr. Joseph strives to provide a warm, safe and casual space for patients to explore how their past impacts their current experiences and relationships. In doing so, patients can gain a better understanding of themselves, find creative and sustainable solutions and begin to heal from and reduce painful emotions. Dr. Joseph believes in the importance of making room for patients’ multifaceted, diverse and complex identities and values, and her therapeutic approach is strongly rooted in social justice frameworks. Dr. Joseph approaches treatment relationally and psychodynamically, and is also trained in cognitive behavioral modalities. She holds specialized training in gender- and sexuality-affirming models of treatment.
Dr. Joseph is also a staff psychologist at The New School’s Student Health and Support Services. Prior to joining Madison Park Psychological Services, Dr. Joseph has worked at Fordham University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, Brooklyn VA Medical Center and Columbia University’s Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She currently teaches undergraduate psychology courses at New York City College of Technology and previously taught at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts and The New School for Social Engagement.
