Dr. Khadivi serves as a consultant in psychological assessment and psychotherapy for Madison Park Psychological Services. He has been practicing psychotherapy, performing psychological evaluations and teaching diagnostic assessments for 25 years. He maintains an active clinical and forensic psychology practice and has received numerous awards for his work.
Dr. Khadivi completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University and obtained his PhD in clinical psychology in 1990 from the New School for Social Research. He completed his clinical training at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He is currently the Associate Chairman for Clinical Care, Evaluation and Research, of the Department of Psychiatry, Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center. He is also a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the New School for Social Research, Departments of Psychology, where he teaches doctoral level psychology courses in clinical interveiwing and diagnostic assessment. Furthermore, Dr. Khadivi is a Fellow of the Society for Personality Assessment and was a forensic examiner for the Bronx Supreme and Criminal Courts.
Dr. Khadivi is recipient of many awards including Howard Hunt Award of Distinction from the Department of Psychology of New York Hospital - Cornell Medical College, Teacher of the Year Awards from the Department of Psychiatry of Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center and Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for Forensic Psychological Consultation from Legal Aid Society.
Dr. Khadivi has been recognized as an expert in clinical and forensic psychology by the New York Supreme Court, and other Courts in New York State. He has been an expert consultant for clinical and forensic evaluations for multiple institutiions. He serves an expert in criminal case for the New York County District Attoreny's Office and for major Public Defenders' Offices.
Dr. Khadivi has given numerous national and international workshops on the assessment of severe mental illness, suicide risk assessment and differential diagnosis. His publications have been on the application of psychological assessment to psychotic, mood, and substance abuse disorders.
